As the NCAA Frozen Four heads to Vegas, there’s a cool New Mexico connection!
Back in 1948, Michigan Wolverines men’s ice hockey and North Dakota Fighting Hawks men’s ice hockey played a Christmas series right here at Albuquerque Ice Arena:
• Dec 25: Michigan 8–1
• Dec 26: Michigan 11–4
One of the first college hockey events in the Southwest — and the start of something bigger.
That legacy lives on with the New Mexico Ice Wolves at Outpost Ice Arenas.
South Division Semifinals are at the Outpost April 17-18 at 6:30pm MT.
